FAQ's

Below are some "Most Frequently Asked Questions" that many people have when they first come to our congregation.  We hope the answers will help you better understand what we are all about.

Do you all believe in Jesus?
Yes, except we know Him by His Hebrew name, Yeshua, which was the name He heard while He walked on earth. To us He is the Messiah of Israel and Savior of the world.

Are you Christians or Jews?
Both, with qualifications. We are Jews and non-Jews who follow and love Yeshua, but our faith is built on the foundation of the Hebrew holy Scriptures, not historical church traditions or Jewish rabbinical determinations.

Do you accept the Scriptures as inspired of God (Adonai or HaShem are both Hebrew words describing God) , including the "Old" and "New Testament?"
Yes.

Do you believe that Adonai works the same today as in Bible times?
Yes. He works whatever He wills unhindered by time or space. If the Most High did it or promised it in the Bible, then it can happen today and at any time.

Are children welcome to attend during services?
Yes.  We believe the Scriptures are very clear about the "Family Church" concept.  We provide additional study material for school aged children that include everything from word games from the bible to coloring books, etc.  We also provide hand out's that include detailed notes for everyone at each service.

Is there a nursery for the children during services?
We have audio speakers set up in the lobby just outside of our main chamber should your children need any special attention.

Do you have a dress code?
No, most  of the congregation goes casual.  However, most men of our congregation wear a Kippa (or skull cap) and Tzitzit (fringes),  while most women might wear a hat or scarf for a head covering.  Tallits (or prayer shawl) are also common among male congregants when the Shabbat is formally consecrated, and when entering into a time of prayer in the the presence of HaShem.  It should be noted that these are not required for attendance or participation.  These are by your individual preference and conviction.

Do you abide by dietary laws?
Yes.  HaShem has given us a clear and concise list of what He considers "food" and what is "Not-food".  This list encompasses pork (or Pig), shellfish, and various scavenger animals.  We also do not cook or consume dairy and meat (except fish) together for any pot lucks or onegs.  We also request that all meats and processed foods brought for pot lucks and onegs should have had a kosher symbol on the original packages.  Generally speaking, we are considered to be Kosher.  If you have any questions please contact us.  If you are a guest, please come and enjoy; there is no requirement to bring any food.

Do you believe we should all keep the Seventh Day Sabbath?

Yes. We proclaim that from the time of creation Adonai set aside sundown Friday to sundown Saturday as a gift of physical rest to us. We should accept the holy gift gladly.

Do you keep the Christian holidays, like Christmas and Easter?

No. We only celebrate Scripturally commanded holy days. Neither Christmas or Easter are the actual days for the events they propose to celebrate. We, rather, celebrate the various Feasts of Adonai.

Do you keep all the Festivals found in scripture?

Yes.  We celebrate all of the Torah commanded festivals and Hanukkah corporately.  We have special celebrations for all of the festival Shabbats/holy convocations commanded, but, of course, without the practice of Temple commandments.

Are you a part of Israel?

Yes, we are a part of ultimate Israel. We belong to Israel with all those who keep covenant according to the instruction of HaShem.  Most of the congregation is grafted into Israel, taking on the characteristics and lifestyle of Israel, not replacing Israel or changing who Israel is.
