Statement of Faith

Essential statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible (The Tanakh, Gospels, and Apostolic Writings)[1], as originally written, is the inspired Word of Hashem (2 Tim 3:16, John 1:1-17, Dt 30:14, 2 Peter 1:20-21). It is therefore, all, 100% able to give us the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in the Messiah Y’shua[2] (2 Tim 3:15, Heb. 11, John 5:46-47, Gal 3:8, Hab 2:4, Matt 23:23, Gen 4:26b, Joel 2:32 , Dt 30:19-20) and is useful and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness:  That the man of Hashem may be fully equipped for every good work.  (2 Tim 3:15-17, Dt 30:19-20)

We believe that Hashem is echad (one) (Dt 6:4)

We believe in the deity of Y’shua (John 1:1-18, Isa 48:16-17), His virgin birth (Isa 9:6, 7:14, Matt 1:18-25), His sinless life (Isa 53, 2 Cor 5:21, Luke 1;35), His vicarious and atoning death as the Messiah ben Joseph (suffering servant), (Isa 53, Dan 9:24-27, Zech 9:9, Rom 3:21-31, Heb 9 and 10), His bodily resurrection (Zech 12:10, Zech 14, Matt 28)  His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Ps 110, Ps 16:10, Acts 1:1-11, Heb 1:1-3) and His personal return in power and glory as the Messiah ben David (conquering warrior and king) (Dan 7:9-14, Matt 26:57-64, Rev 1:1-18).  We believe that Y’shua is the way, the truth, and the life; and that no one comes to the Father except through Him.  (Gen 3:15, John 14:6, John 6:29, 40, 44, 1 John 5:11-12)

We believe that man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of Hashem, (Gen 1:27) but through Adam’s transgression of the covenant, lost life (eternal) (Hos 6:7, Gen 1:28, 2:15-17, Ps 133:3, John 12:50).  The covenant required the death of the Messiah, the promised seed, to give us the opportunity for an inheritance of life (eternal) (Gen 3:15, Dt 30:19-20, Ps 133:3, John 12:50, 1 Cor 11:23-25, Luke 22:19-20) as mankind had entered into death/damnation (Gen 2:17, 3:6-7, Rom 5:12)

Salvation is the gift of Hashem to mankind that can be neither bought nor earned by merit, but rather it is by Hashem’s grace, through faith in Y’shua’s (Hashem’s Salvation) atonement (Lev 17:11, Eph 2:8). (Not mental assent or mere belief but rather faith: which is a knowledge of, assent to, confidence and trust in Hashem and His divine Truth that produces good works/obedience to His commandments(Matt 8:10, 15:28, Acts 3:16, Rom 1:17, 3:22-28, Gal 5:6, and Heb 11.) Mental assent, knowledge, or belief without obedience and trust (relinquishing one's self appointed position of god and allowing Hashem to be God, Lord, and Savior) is by definition false faith (Dt 13:1-5, James 2:14-26, Matt 7:21-23, 2 Thes 2:3-4)).

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost.  The saved will be resurrected, judged, and found righteous (as their sins will be forgiven and forgotten), receiving the gift of eternal life and of Hashem’s Torah (Law, Divine Instruction that defines what sin is (Rom3:20, 4:15, 7:7)) being written on their hearts and put within them so they may worship Him perfectly for eternity. (Ex 34:6-7, Jer 31:33-34, Rom 5:9, 1 Thes 1:10, John 12:50)  The lost will be resurrected, judged according to the Torah, as they are “under the Law”, receiving divine wrath, death. (Matt 12:31-32,  Ex 23:7, 34:7,  Dt. 7:10)

We believe that the Torah (the first five books of the Bible) is about the Messiah (John 5:46-47), the weightier provisions of the Torah are Justice, Mercy, and Faithfulness (Matt. 23:23), that the Torah is Holy (Rom 7:12), Spiritual (Rom 7:14), Truth (Ps 119: 142), provides the definition of what sin is (Rom 3:20, 4:15, 7:7),  is established in faith (Rom 3:31) and is for all peoples (Jew and Gentile) (Lev 24:22, Num 15:15, 29, Eph 2:11-12, 19, Matt 5:18-19).

[1] Commonly referred to as the “Old Testament” and “New Testament”

[2] Y’shua (also transliterated “Yeshua” or “Yahshua”) means “Salvation”.  It is the shortened form of Y’hushua meaning “HaShem’s salvation” and is the name of the Messiah.

Blessed be the Name of His glorious kingdom for ever and ever

V-ahavta et Adonai Elohecha b-chol l'vavcha u-v-chol naf'sh'cha u-v-chol m'odecha.
"You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength"

V-hayu ha-d'varim ha-ayleh asher anochi m'tzav'cha ha-yom al l'vavecha.
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart

V-shinantam l-vanecha, v-dibarta bam
b-shivt'cha b-vaytecha, u-v-lecht'cha ba-derech, u-v-shachb'cha u-v-kumecha.

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up

U-k'shartam l'ot al yadecha, v-hayu l-totafot bayn aynecha.
"You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes"

U-chtavtam al m'zuzot baytecha u-vi-sharecha.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates

Deuteronomy 11:13-21

V-haya im shamoa tish'mu el mitzvotai
asher anochi m'tzaveh etchem ha-yom, l-ahavah et Adonai Elohaychem,
u-l-avdo b-chol l'vavchem u-v-chol nafsh'chem.

And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love Adonai your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,

V-natati m'tar artzchem b-ito, yoreh u-malkosh;
v-asafta d'ganecha, v-tirosh'cha v-yitzharecha.

then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.

V-natati aysev b-sad'cha li-b'hem'techa; v-achalta v-savata.
And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and Filled.

Hishamru lachem, pen yifteh l'vavchem,
v-sartem va-avadtem elohim achayrim, v-hishtachavitem lahem.

Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them,

V-charah af Adonai bachem, v-atzar et ha-shamayim v-lo yihyeh matar,
v-ha-adama lo titayn et y'vulah;
va-avadtem m'hayrah mayal ha-aretz ha-tovah asher Adonai notayn lachem.

lest Adonai's anger be aroused against you, and He shut up the heavens so that there be no rain, and the land yield no produce, and you perish quickly from the good land which Adonai is giving you.

V-sam'tem et d'varai ayleh al l'vavchem v-al naf'sh'chem;
u-kshartem otam l-ot al yedchem, v-hayu ltotafot bayn aynaychem.

Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

V-limadtem otam et b'naychem l-daber bam
b-shivt'cha b-vaytecha, u-v-lecht'cha baderech, u-v-shachb'cha u-v-kumecha.

You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

U-ch'tavtam al m'zuzot baytecha u-vi-sharecha.
And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,

L'ma'an yirbu y'maychem vi-y'may v'naychem al ha-adamah asher nishba Adonai
la-avotaychem latayt lahem ki-y'may ha-shamayim al ha-aretz.

That your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which Adonai swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.

Numbers 15:37-41

Vayomer Adonai el Mosheh laymor.
Again Adonai spoke to Moses, saying,

Daber el b'nay Yisrael v-amarta alayhem,
v-asu lahem tzitzit al can'fay vi-g'dayhem l-dorotam,
v-natnu al tzitzit ha-canaf p'til t'chaylet.

"Speak to the children of Israel: Tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels of the corners".

V-hayah lachem l-tzitzit, u-r'iytem oto u-z'chartem et kol mitzvot Adonai,
va-asiytem otam v-lo taturu acharay l-vavchem
v-acharay aynaychem, asher atem zonim acharaychem.

And you shall have the tassel, that you may look upon it and remember all the commandments of Adonai and do them, and that you may not follow the harlotry to which your own heart and your own eyes are inclined,

L'ma-an tiz'k'ru v-asitem et kol mitzvotai, vi-h'yiytem k'doshim laylohaychem.
and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God.

Ani Adonai Elohaychem, asher hotzaytiy etchem mayeretz Mitzrayim,
li-h'yot lahem laylohim. Ani Adonai Elohaychem.

I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am Adonai your God.
